Pinball Tournament
Tiltshift is having its first tournament! Join us on Sunday, May 3rd at 2 PM for practice, with the tournament starting at 3 PM.
We’re located at 252 Deer Harbor Road. Look for the blue barn with lights along the fence.
TLDR
- $5 cash entry fee
- Strikes knockout format
- RSVP by emailing tony@tiltshiftorcas.com
- No bathroom available (sorry!)
Format
This tournament will be a bounty strikes knockout format. Here’s what that means:
You will play a series of 4-player matches against players with a similar number of strikes as you. Each match, the players finishing in second and third place will receive one strike. Once you have 5 strikes, you’re out of the tournament.
When the tournament starts, all players will receive a token. When you get your last strike, the player who won that match takes your token as their bounty. You always keep any tokens you win even once you’re out of the tournament.
The last player remaining with less than 5 strikes wins the tournament! Once we have a winner, tokens can be cashed out for prizes. Because tokens can be won throughout the tournament, there will be lots of winners, not just the top finalists.
Day-of Logistics
We will be using a site called Matchplay to help run the tournament. When you arrive, you can pull up the tournament dashboard on your phone (https://matchplay.live/tiltshift-strikes) to easily keep track of which machine you’re headed to next. The TV will also display this information.
All of the machines at Tiltshift will be included in the tournament and you’ll be randomly assigned to one for each match. Arrive early and practice on each machine, especially any you’re less familiar with.
Final Notes
We’ll probably need to cap the tournament around 25 people, and we don’t know what the turnout will be. RSVP is not required but it will guarantee you a spot, so if you are able to make it please email tony@tiltshiftorcas.com.
We’ll go over all of this again in person before we get started, so don’t worry if any parts are confusing now. Thanks for joining us for our first tournament! If you have any questions, send me an email.
